BRIDE PLAY FIELD TO SEE ACCESSIBLE IMPROVEMENTS FOR ALL TO ENJOY

PR295 Bride Park

Manx Lottery Trust funding has been awarded to Bride Parish Commissioners for it to enhance its play facilities in a local sports field.

The grant of £9,294 has enabled the Commissioners to give local children access to new, safe and accessible play equipment, by purchasing and installing a wheelchair carousel and bird’s nest swing.

The sports field is used frequently by local residents, the Commissioners, and also groups from across the Island such as school trips, and Isle of Play.

Lisa Sims, Clerk of Bride Parish Commissioners, said: ‘We’re extremely grateful for the funding support from Manx Lottery Trust, which will not only benefit the local community, but also future generations to come.

‘Local residents have expressed their concern for the equipment for some time, so the improvement is much needed. It is important that we encourage all local residents, particularly children, to get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air, so these new additions will hopefully do just that. We’re also excited to be able to provide equipment which children of all abilities can experience.’

Stephen Turner, Chairman of Manx Lottery Trust, added: ‘The new play equipment will be a great community asset to Bride, and it will provide great physical and social benefits to families in the area and beyond.’
