ISLE OF MAN FERERATION OF WOMEN’S INSTITUTES RECEIVES VITAL FUNDING FROM MANX LOTTERY TRUST
The Isle of Man Federation of Women’s Institutes will be renovating their office space thanks to Manx Lottery Trust funding.
The Island’s Federation of Women’s Institutes, which has 19 branches across the Island, is a community organisation that provides women with the opportunity to make new friends in their local area, learn new skills, share experiences and campaign for local charities and causes.
The Federation has been awarded £1,000 from the Manx Lottery Trust and will be using the funds to refurbish and redecorate their head office based in Onchan.
Lillian Ingram, Federation Chairman, said: ‘The funding from the Manx Lottery Trust has enabled us to paint the interiors of our head office and refurbish several communal areas. We use our office space for a number of our Federation meetings, community events, and member workshops. We hope the refurbishment will make the space more welcoming, where productivity and idea-sharing can flourish – we can’t thank the Manx Lottery Trust enough for their support.’
Sarah Kelly, Chairman of Manx Lottery Trust, said: ‘We are delighted to support the Isle of Man Federation of Women’s Institutes, a local institution that has inspired and bought together local women across the Island for generations. The Women’s Institute offers opportunities for all women to enjoy new friendships, learn new skills, and together influence and support the local community. We hope this funding will support their outstanding initiatives moving forwards.’
