ISLE OF MAN ORIENTEERING KLUBB RECIEVES LOGISTICS SUPPORT FROM MANX LOTTERY TRUST
The Isle of Man Orienteering Klubb has received a boost in organising events following a grant from the Manx Lottery Trust. The £2500 grant, as part of the Smaller Grants Scheme, will help provide a heavy-duty shelter, tables, flags, and other essential supporting equipment.
Williiam Higgins, Isle of Man Orienteering Klubb, explained: “Our orienteering events cater to people of all ages at various locations across the Isle of Man, providing unique opportunities for participants to engage in outdoor activities that promote teamwork, navigation skills, and a love for the outdoors.
“The heavy-duty shelter, tables, and flags will play a pivotal role in optimizing event logistics. These resources will be used for participant registration, distribution of event maps, timing processes, return of participants, and collection of finished participants' scorecards. Flags will mark start and finish locations and indicate the Orienteering event registration area. The support of the Manx Lottery Trust means a great deal to us.”
Stephen Turner, Chairman of Manx Lottery Trust, said: "We are delighted to be able to support Isle of Man Orienteering Klubb with the provision of this key equipment. In particular the provision of a sheltered and welcoming location for participants and organisers will undoubtedly be welcome given the Island’s wide range of weather."
