KING WILLIAM'S COLLEGE RECEIVES A MANX LOTTERY TRUST GRANT FOR THEATRE LIGHTING UPGRADE
King William's College has been awarded a grant of £14,500 from the Manx Lottery Trust as part of its Community Awards programme. This generous grant will fund the installation of advanced LED lighting in the King's Court Theatre, enhancing the venue's lighting capabilities and offering greater flexibility for community groups and theatre productions.
The funding comes at a crucial time, as the theatre recently completed a £50,000 installation of a motorised lighting bar rig. The new LED lighting will complement this upgrade, providing more efficient and adaptable lighting options to meet the diverse needs of local community groups.
David Dawson from King William's College expressed his enthusiasm about the project. He said: "This grant from the Manx Lottery Trust will have a significant positive impact on our theatre and the new LED lighting system will improve the quality of our performances and provide varied options for the many community groups that use our theatre. We are incredibly grateful for the support."
Stephen Turner, Chairman of the Manx Lottery Trust, added, "We are pleased to support King William's College with this grant. The Community Awards programme is all about enhancing community spaces that matter to people and the upgrades to King's Court Theatre will provide lasting benefits to the local community.
The Community Awards programme, funded by the Manx Lottery Trust as a delegated partner of the National Lottery Community Fund, provides grants between £2,501 and £50,000 to projects that make a meaningful difference in local communities.
This latest grant to King William's College is a testament to the ongoing commitment of the Manx Lottery Trust to support projects that enhance community life on the Isle of Man.
