Trustee Sarah Kelly has been appointed as the new Chairman for Manx Lottery Trust.

The Trust, which awards grants to organisations for the benefit of people in the Isle of Man, is a delegated partner of Big Lottery Fund UK.

Sarah has been a Trustee since the beginning of 2016. She has succeeded Lulu Gillow, who has served as Chair for the past 18 months.

Sarah said: ‘I am very much looking forward to getting stuck in to the new role. It is a fantastic organisation that I am proud to be a part of – it benefits so many people in the Isle of Man and it really is an honour to be appointed as Chairman.’

She continued: ‘The Trust has lost its longest standing Trustee, Lulu has served the maximum two terms of 5 years each. During this period a lot has been achieved and everyone has worked hard to ensure many applicants deserving of funding have received support.’

Lulu added: ‘I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Chair of Manx Lottery Trust, and it is wonderful to have had such a positive impact in the community and been able to support so many great projects.

‘Sarah has already demonstrated her commitment to the Trust undertaking many visits and attending local events, and her ability to lead and inspire people makes me confident she will do a great job as Chairman. I wish her the very best of luck.’

During Lulu’s time as Chair, Manx Lottery Trust awarded grants of more than £1 million to local community projects across the Island.

Funding Manager at Big Lottery Fund UK Samantha Tague attended the handover, and thanked Lulu for her commitment to the Trust over the past 10 years.
