MANX LOTTERY TRUST SUPPORTS PEEL CENTENARY CENTRE
Last week saw the installation of a new PA system at Peel Centenary Centre, which has been funded by grants from the Manx Lottery Trust and other supporters.
The £16,500 grant from the Trust covers a third of the cost of the electronic installation, which has replaced the old system and will be used for putting on high-quality theatre, live-screening and film events in the arts and community centre.
The Centre is the only one in the Island run entirely by volunteers, and also provides a venue for corporate presentations, lectures, exhibitions and workshops.
David McLean, Director at Peel Centenary Centre, said: ‘I would like to offer a huge thank you to Manx Lottery Trust for its support of this project, which is going to benefit many of the Island’s residents.
‘I would also like to thank the Isle of Man Arts Council, Malcolm Scott Dickinson Charitable Trust and the Friends of the Centenary Centre, who have helped towards the cost of the new PA system, and the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, who assisted with the cost of travel for the equipment.’
Sarah Kelly, Chairman at Manx Lottery Trust, said: ‘The centre plays a huge part in the local community and offers a great venue for a variety of events. We are delighted to help improve its facilities.’
