SCHOOLS SERVICE SOARS WITH MANX LOTTERY TRUST GRANT
A bespoke service delivered directly to primary schools Island-wide has been boosted to the tune of £2,500.
The Manx Lottery Trust grant will allow the Isle of Man Family Library’s Schools Service to purchase a range of new books and resources.
Available to all local primary schools, each half-term the library team delivers a range of educational items to schools based on requests from teachers for resources that support their work.
Depending on the topics and themes they are covering, resources can range from books and display materials to historical models, DVDs and games. The service also extends to class visits and themed assemblies.
Sarah Johnson from the Family Library’s Schools Service said: ‘With many schools using the same planning scheme, several teachers in different schools can often end up teaching the same topic at the same time which places great demand on our existing stock.
‘We are extremely grateful to Manx Lottery Trust for its support which will allow us to provide more up-to-date books and materials to share throughout schools simultaneously.’
Sarah Kelly, Chairman of Manx Lottery Trust, added: ‘We are delighted to help the Family Library Schools Service which is clearly in demand Island-wide and appreciated by the children and teachers alike. An educational service like this is invaluable for all ages.’
