ST CHRISTOPHER’S ‘DIFFERENT TOGETHER’ CELEBRATES AFTER RECEIVING £36,000 FROM THE MANX LOTTERY TRUST
St Christopher’s Isle of Man is celebrating after being awarded £36,000 in funding from Manx Lottery Trust’s Dormant Assets Fund.
Different Together will use their funding to create a culture of diversity and inclusion across St Christopher's services for staff, children, young people, partners and broader community on the island.
The grant will enable St Christopher’s Isle of Man to employ their first Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Advisor to equip staff with the right tools, training and support to navigate a workplace where people can bring their whole selves, feel safe and are free from the effects of perceived or actual bias.
Anne Seed, Director of Operations, IOM said: ‘Thanks to this grant we can ensure that we have a diverse workforce that reflects the young people living in our homes. And that opportunities for development and promotion are genuinely accessible to all. This will make a big difference to people’s lives.’
Sarah Kelly, Chairman of Manx Lottery Trust, added: ‘We are pleased to support St Christopher’s with this new role, which will ensure all adults and children involved with the charity can be part of a fair and equal culture. We appreciate their hard work in providing vital support for young people’.
